Marc and Angel Hack Life - Pursuing Passion!

Photo take by Robert Janes
Ok. So, my friend Curtis just turned Sierra & I on to this blog that he's been following for about a year and well I'm feeling inspired!

Check it out @: Marc and Angel Hack Life

This couple, has been sharing practical life advice with 1,000's of others for sometime now and well the practical advice has just given me a boost of confidence in our pursuit of our passion(s). Checkout the article "10 Lies You will Hear before You Pursue Your Dreams". I can realistically say that Sierra & I are on our 1st real journey together right now. WE ARE STARTING! Society-at-large has more or less directed us to this point in time, go to school... check, get a degree...check, find a good job...check, but here is where the hard decisions have started to come. Sure, we have had quite a number or adventures, but we have never focused on one this large! And as cliche as it is to say - This is what life is about.

I'm sure none of this is new to anyone reading this but really, at this juncture, I have to ask, "What are we all doing?" There are so many friends, family members, colleagues, and even ourselves that I've seen laying down and pushing thru the day to day just waiting, for what? The next paycheck. A new car. A bigger house. These can all be great material things, but where is the fun in enjoying them, if you just don't like your life. Why do we mindlessly pursue useless entertainments... We're not drones - This is no way to live life. We all have so much life in us, so much to experience, so much more to learn.. to enjoy!

I know that nothing I'm saying is profound and it's certainly all been heard before, but I am just so excited that we are actually starting the process - Pursuing what we want out of life. We know that not everyone will understand our choices, and maybe (don't tell anyone), sometimes we won't/don't understand them either, but we are making them for better or worse! And, most importantly we have seized control of our own futures. We are the decision makers in our lives now. I'm just hoping this might reach out to one person, who is wondering how to get started, and hoping that by knowing one person, that has started, that it might inspire. I suppose now I'll have to document the struggle, but strangely enough, that is one of the most exciting things in my life!

So, if you've read the article I do strongly agree on several points on which we've followed: (1) Don't just go blindly diving into the unknown - come up with a plan and do the research to know  when, where, and how your passion can evolve. Of course there will always be unknowns but figure out as much as you can! (2) Definitely figure out how much you need to live - at almost every juncture in my life, that I have attempted to pursue something, those older and wiser than myself have almost always said save at least  6-months worth of living costs! (3) Don't worry about having every penny stashed away, just get as close as you can. And most importantly, NEVER EVER, GIVE UP.

Your passion, your dreams, they are the only thing in this world worth fighting for, no matter how ridiculous they may seem. We are all worth BELIEVING in! So, like my friendly Alaskan whale up there and as Marc and Angel said, let's make our splash!

And don't forget Bill Gates dropped out of college his freshman year to pursue his passion!

Hope someone reads this... haha

Mile High Music Festival 2010

Hi Everyone!!!! Just wanted to share some pictures from MHMF this year! We had a blast as usual. Listened to some amazing music: Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews Band, Weezer, Cypress Hill, One EskimO, Train, Steve Miller Band, Amos Lee, and Many more!!!!! It was SO much fun to be with almost all the people that were there last time plus more! As Marty Brown said... "Good friends and good music, what more do you need?" Hahaha! Here are some pics!

The first night we went to a Colorado Rockies game. They played the Milwaukee Brewers (for all my Wisconsin family) and the Rockies WON! ;)

The next morning we went to this New Mexican place (of course) in Denver. And you would not believe this burrito that they had!! 7 POUNDS!
Five pounds of potatoes, one pound cheese, one dozen eggs! It was INSANE!
OF course we had to order TWO of them! hahah! People in the restuarant were taking pics!

After stuffing our faces, all six of us only got about 1/4 of the way through the burrito. And we were on our way to the festival!
My Colorado hippie outfit

Jack Johnson, Pablo LOVES him!

At the Weezer concert. There were SO many people!
Rivers Cuomo is HILARIOUS!
My Weezer sign is a bit off ( I had no idea what I was doing)!
Getting ready for Dave Matthews!

He is SO good in concert! And they had amazing video effects!!!
Great way to end the two day festival!

Me & my BF and Maid of Honor!!!!! :)

All of us girls rockin out after the concert!

As some of you know, Pablo and I just had our ENGAGEMENT party last weekend here in ABQ. We will post pictures of it soon, since there were a lot of ppl from out of town who could not attend. :(
The party was SO special to Pablo and I though, and for all the friends and family who were in attendance to celebrate Pab & I, THANK YOU very much!!

Talk to you soon! xoxoxo

We are SO busy!!!

Hi Everybody, this is Sierra! Haha, I feel like I have to announce myself. Anyways, just wanted to officially say Hello to everyone and tell Pablo he has done a great job with the blog so far!! He knows how to do much coooler things than I do on here, but I will try my best!

So... since we have been engaged our life has been this whirlwind! We are already half way into August! I cant even believe we have been engaged for almost 2 months!! Since our engagement, we have had lots of friends come into town, including my little brother Hunter!! We had so much fun! Pab and I showed him so much in just 6 days. More people definitely need to come and visit us, New Mexico really is so different than anywhere else I have been. (That's a hint, by the way.) :)
We are headed to Denver this weekend for MILE HIGH MUSIC FESTIVAL! Can you tell I am excited? It has been one of Pablo's favorite things to do since we met (go to concerts) so I bought him these tickets way back in April for his birthday! Kind of belated since we are finally going now! But we went two years ago and had the time of our lives with great friends from all over. So we are continuing the saga this weekend!
Also my best friend Caroline just moved to Denver for law school (congrats for the millionth time!) so this will be the first time we will see her new house! So excited!
Other than that, I know we need to post a zillion pics up! I will make sure and take a few this weekend!

Miss you all,
S
